Epoxy resin coatings have high waterproof, chemical and abrasive qualities whilst being very cost-effective. However, there are some limitations to when they should be used.

As there is little elongation, this may cause the coating to fracture or split. Epoxy resin coatings should also be carefully considered when working on structures which need to be returned to service as quickly and cure times need to be considered, as curing can range from 7 to 21 days, depending on environmental conditions.
